There are a couple of things to keep in mind for Week 3 that you'll want to build into your plan. On Tuesday, September 25, I'll be having lunch at El Jalisco with some other faculty. Just as we did last year, a student will go with me, pick out what I have, pick out what they want, and I will pick up the tab for us both. If you are over at the restaurant any time soon, it may help to bring home a menu with you to help plan. Decide among yourselves who will be joining me that day. I can help put you in touch with some previous students who did a great job with the selections that day. There will be several of these Tuesday's lunches throughout the semester.
I want to compliment whoever it is that gave me the 1750 calorie sample plan (let me know who it is, so I can make a note of it). What I really like about it, is that I can look at a glance and see what I'm having at each meal/snack and I know right away how many calories I'll have for the day, as well as how to make the chicken recipe. It's very complete and easy to make sense of at a glance. I like that. In the presentation template, I've tried to set things up so they are similarly organized. Please feel free to use those other resources for good ideas.
I'm back from the follow-up scan. The IV went in fine, the saline started, and then about 20 minutes later, the contrast material went in. Let me tell ya, it's like taking in a habanero pepper from your insides out. The intense heat started in my upper chest, and within seconds my head and limbs were on fire from the inside. That sensation didn't last much more than 45 seconds and then it starts to go away, followed by a weird taste and scent. Almost like some synthetic polymer adhesive smell and taste. The scanning took a lot longer this time, because they had these delays they had to do between each set of pics. The nurses were good to me. I've always said that nurses are issued a "Get into Heaven Free!" pass. At least that's been true for all the nurses that have patched me up over the years. I should have a summary, similar to the one given in class by Friday. The experience has been a good learning one for me. I do wish I had taken a human anatomy class in college. I had only two semesters of intro Biology for non-majors, not unlike what many of you might be taking right now. All my other sciences were Physics, Chemistry, and Comp Sci. If you have a chance to get a human anatomy class while you are a student, take it. I think we all will have a point where we wish we did.
I talked with Dr. F this afternoon to talk with me about the scan results, and I'll share that with you on Monday.

Hmmm...I posted this at 7:56 p.m., not the 11 a.m. time that it says. That's kind of weird.
Did you start the blog in the morning, save it as a draft, and then finish it up later? I noticed that once. It keeps the original time instead of the actual posting time.
I told you that contrast was "tingly"!
Hope you get a good report on your test.
