Doctor's Report

Visited my doctor on 08-28-07. Here's some info:

Weight: 178 (yeah, everybody knows that it's mandatory for the doctor's scale to weight heavy & the only reason I'm sharing this is because (a) you're not going to tell anybody and (b) at the end of the class I can't wait to see how this changes!)

Resting pulse: 66
BP: 130/90 which is a bit high for me but I've really been under a great deal of stress lately getting ready for the opening of school, faculty & student orientations, Opening Convocation, etc.

Otherwise, everything was normal. Labwork:

Glucose: 85
Cholesterol: 180
Triglycerides: 69
HDL Cholesterol: 52
LDL Cholesterol: 114 (this is high according to the lab's normal range but my doctor said that this is well within an adjusted range based on my very low risk for coronary heart disease)
TSH: 2.121

My doctor did talk me into going back on hormone replacement therapy. Not because I've suddenly grown a mustache or starting speaking in a deeper voice but because he said that I was at low risk for the side effects and that it could add some pep to my day. He also convinced me to take a multivitamin and a calcium tablet each day. So with your approval, I'd like to start taking these:

Estradiol, 1 mg daily
Caltrate 600+D, 1 daily
Century Complete Multivitamin/Multimineral, 1 daily

Overall, it looks like I'm fit for this program and the only things that really need changing are my weight and my blood pressure. Exercise and good nutrition (and reduced stress) shoud have a positive impact on my BP.
