Remember to Give Your Post a Title

If you're creating a new post to the blog, don't forget to give it a Title! If anyone is using a RSS reader that synchronizes with the blog and alerts you when there are new posts, the title is grabbed by the RSS reader. Posts without titles go undetected by those kinds of readers.

Think of it like a continuously updated bookmark for your browser. When a new post is entered with a title, then that title shows up as a new live bookmark. If there is no title, it can't tell there are any new posts.

If you want to see how you can keep yourself continuously updated with the blog's postings, drop by the office with your laptop, and I'll show you how to set it all up. (In smart, modern browsers like Firefox or Safari, it's as easy as dragging the RSS logo on our blog's page to your bookmarks. Since you all are smart and up-to-date students, you'll realize how good Firefox is and have it installed on your system already.)
