It was raining hard when I got home. Yeah, I really thought twice about bagging a workout. I'm still sick, still tired, and generally didn't feel like getting soaked. But I popped two ibu, slapped on some Vick's as a decongestant, some Smartwool socks for the rain, and went at it. I did not wear the heart rate monitor, because I don't know for sure what kind of water resistance has. It's not worth risking a $400 piece of equipment over one workout. It took a while to re-figure out my old Ironman, and (as you'll see below) it takes a lot harder push on the buttons to get them to record. I couldn't see the small numbers for the lap times in the deluge, so I was going totally on how I felt. Turns out that wasn't a bad approach at all. I'm pretty surprised with how consistent the times were, and I'm pleased that they came down as the workout went on.
Here are the lap splits for the 2-mile/walk/mile workout:
1:58
1:57
1:58
1:55
1:56
1:53
1:50
1:51
1:46
1:51 <- here's where the left ankle started hurting really badly.
2:32
I lost the time on the last lap, by apparently not getting the button all the way pushed. It only shows my cool-down and jog home for 20 minutes. Total workout time including jog over to the track, warm-up laps, workout, cool-down, jog home was 56 minutes.
