Sprint Ladders for Mrs. C!

Sprint ladders are tough but I really feel like I've accomplished something when I do them. But I've learned something about them.

The first time I did them (last week), I could barely move the following day. Hobbled around all day and was unable to do any type of conditioning that day.

This week, it wasn't as bad. I could feel that I wasn't as fast as last week but actually did a few more. I could function OK the day after (Wednesday) for my normal daily activities but when I tried to run Fartleks last night, I couldn't run at all. I did manage to do one Fartlek but couldn't come anywhere near a sprint on the longs.

Today, I'm much better but am still walking with a bit of a limp on my left side.

I'm thinking that if I am to continue with sprint ladders, my next day's activity will need to be weight lifting (upper body) or biking. It's the weight-bearing that hurts. If I'm to do sprints next week, could you try to plan it that way? Hopefully, I'll be in better shape and may be able to run, etc., but I'll know the day after and then we can plan accordingly for the following week.

So, Wednesday's activity was a 10-minute leisurely paced walk (I was walking my dogs) and 1 Fartlek; barely made it and didn't time it.

I hope I'm able to run on Friday. Will certainly try and let you know.
